Credit scores help predict how likely it is that a person will pay back their loan obligations as agreed. Credit scoring models vary, but generally use your payment history, length of credit history and credit utilization.

Processing times for a person with no criminal record are generally 24 hours. Once your application has been processed, your results will be sent to you by email. You will also receive a paper copy by mail within 5-10 business days.
Using Equifax and other third-party credit reporting databases, eID generates four “out of portfolio” questions about an applicant’s credit history. Only the applicant will be able to answer these questions correctly and pass the process.
The information is compared to personal data provided by the applicant (such as date of birth and previous addresses) to confirm the identity of the individual. If unsuccessful (most often due to a limited credit history), the applicant will be asked by email to identify themselves in another way.
Unlike a background check using fingerprints, the police certificate is based on the applicant’s name and date of birth. We offer you the opportunity to apply fully online in two steps: first apply by filling out the form above and fill out your basic information, then tell us why you need a certificate.
You have the choice to pay immediately online and receive an email with a link to fill out, or you can ask us to contact you for a secure payment and give you access to our online form to obtain your certificate within a few hours. Online payment is by credit card only. When we contact you for payment, you can also pay by Interac e-Transfer.
